Just as Jonah the prophet (8th-cent. B.C.) was in the belly of a great fish three days and three nights (Jonah 2:1). So was Jesus buried in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights, or two (Matthew 12:38-40).

Frankincense. A symbol of divinity, it reminds us of the remark made by the Roman centurion and guards, who were filled with awe as the earth shook beneath their feet :
"Truly this was the Son of, God !" (Matthew 27:54).
