Biography - Joseph Vella
Joseph Vella the most infamous of identical twins is a man of limited
talent and lesser virtue. Born in Malta 1930, son of Dr. & Mrs. Alfred
Vella, DMO Sliema, Joe was introduced to the way of the world as an involuntary
student of St Aloysius College. Joe and his twin Vic departed Malta in
1947 for domicile in the U.K.
By 1950 Joe established permanent residency in the United States where
he completed his secondary and higher education. Within a few years Joe
acquired automatic citizenship by reason of his military service as a Korean
Vet. By early 1955 Joe took up a series of job opportunities in the Middle
East & Asia in a technical capacity working with computer systems.
After serving twenty years abroad and having helped the U.S. lose the
war in Vietnam and the Iranian Revolution against the Shah, Joe returned
home to Ontario California an unsung hero where he worked for Lockheed-
Martin as Manager of Software Support until his early retirement in 1989.
Joe is married to Huong Vu a native of North Vietnam. Joe has fathered
three children and raised a stepson. He has three beautiful granddaughters,
two of whom are also twins. In his golden years Joe is interested in promoting
Malta as the final country of destination for North American tourists.
Mindful of how very few know of its existence he has published numerous
articles on Malta over the Internet, extolling its many unique charms &
ancient history.
