- Sir Adrian Dingli - Sir Adrian Dingli (1817-1900) was born in Valletta, son
of Sir Paolo Dingli, G.C.M.G., LL.D who was president of the Courts
of Appeal and whose ancestry came from Gozo. Sir Adrian who studied at the Bishop's Seminary at Mdina
and read Law at the Malta University became a renowned legislator.
He furthered his linguistic and jurisprudence studies in Rome and
Bologna in Italy, Bonn and Heidelberg in Germany, Sorbonne in France and
in London. When in 1849 Malta was given a new Constitution Sir
Adrian was one of the eight Maltese members elected in the National
Council to represent the people. He was elected to represent the
people of Gozo. In 1852 he established the Malta military Regiment.
In 1853 he was appointed Crown Council. He was also the Governor's
consultant and the Government's administrator. In 1859 he was
conferred the C.B. (Member of the Order of the Bath). In 1860 he was
appointed Knight of the Order of St Michael and St George (K.C.M.G.)

- Sir Paolo Dingli - (KCMG, (1781-1867), from Gozo, President of the Court of Appeal and father of Sir Adriano Dingli.)
- Ven. Sir Thomas Dingley - (d. 1539 Martyr, prior of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, found guilty of high
treason 28 April, 1539, and beheaded on Tower Hill, 9 July, together with
the Blessed Sir Adrian Fortescue. He was accused, together with Robert
Granceter, merchant, of "going to several foreign princes and persuading
them to make war with the King". He had no trial, and no proof of
treasonable practices was ever brought against him. In the same bill of
attainder were included many other innocent victims of Henry's tyranny,
including the Blessed Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury. There is a
discrepancy among the chroniclers as to the date of the martyrdom. Stow
gives 10 July, the Gray Friars' "Chronicle" and Wriothesley, 9 July.
For the story of the suppression of the Knights of St. John in England, see
Stow "Chronicle", pp. 579, 580. The gateway tower and the crypt of the
church of their great priory at Clerkenwell are still standing.

- Tumas Dingli Architect - (b.1591
The parish church at Attard , dedicated to St. Mary (Assumption). was built
between 1613 and 1616 by native son Tumas Dingli. Born in 1591, Dingli built
half a dozen of Malta's most beautiful parish churches during a career that
spanned half a century, but the one in Attard is special. This is the first
known to have been designed by him, the only one that hasn't been altered
and, arguably, the best renaissance monument on the island)
