The colours of the coat-of-arms colours are different than shown,
as when I looked them up in the Royal Malta library in 1975 the colours shown were:
Silver and green quarters with a gold diagonal and 3 flowers as you show.
As to the family name, I think it originated from Italy when one of Garibaldi's man escaped to
Malta during the time Garibaldi was being persecuted. I have always beleived that there was only one family with the name 'IZZO' in Malta.
My grandfather was Joseph Izzo an officer in the army.
He and his wife Cristina had 7 sons named Carmelo, Edward who emigrated to America (Ohio), William,
who received the MBE for his services in the KOMR during the war, John, Victor my father,
and Charles who was an amateur actor and also wrote plays which were used by the old Redifusion broadcasting.
