According to the Historical Research Centre here in Australia the surname Mizzi is derived from the Italian Comizzoli which is itself derived from giacomo which accordingly relates to Jacob from the Bible.
The name means protected of The Lord. Therefore as the ancestors where from the Lineage of Jacob and his descendants are of the lineage of Jesus Christ it can therefore be assumed that perhaps the Mizzi clan were in fact part of the "Desposyni" or the scattered of The Lord which is talked about in Laurence Gardners book "Bloodline of The Holy Grail" which attempts to trace the descendants of Jesus in his capacity as the father to two children from Mary Magdalene. She was reported to have sailed to Gaul in Modern France where her sons married into the local aristocratic Jewish families where they became the Merovingian kings only to be deposed later by the Church of Rome, the present Roman Catholic church.
What Gardners book goes on to elucidate is that the Roman Catholic Church was actually the usurpers of the rightful lineage of the kings descended from Jacob, David, Solomon and eventually Jesus Christ, who was the rightful heir to the Jewish throne.
The Romans set out to destroy all the known records of this lineage but much information was saved by the "Desposyni". The crusade which saw Jerusalem come back into the rightful heirs of Jesus and the rightful king, Geofrey De Boullion in the 11th century, later to be overcome by the Saracen Muslims. If you want all the details look at Laurence Gardners website or read his books.
