A Spanish family which passed over to Sicily with |Emperor Fredrick II with Antonio Vincenti, commonly called "Vincenzo", a soldier of fortune who was made Captain of the relief force of Val di Mazzara and the militia of Trapani in 1330 where he established his family. From this family issue there was Antonio, Baron of d'Arcodaci because ofa dowry, who became Prefect of the nation in 1425. Another descendant was Giovanni who was a royal military person and was appointed by King Alfonso as his secretary and Maestro Razionale of the tribunal concerned with the royal patrimony in 1488.
Another Antonio, knight of the royal household was councillor to King Giovanni I in 1464 and who became Capitano Giustizziere of Trapani in 1465.
There was Antonio,third Lord of Celso and Casserino, who was the national governor and senator in 1431 and head of Barons of Casalmango.
There were also Giacomo, Baron of Casalmango, royal concillor and senator and Giovanni, Lord of Marama, councillor and member of the royal household who became Castellan of Colombara in 1448. In 1458 he became secretary to rioyalty and in 1464 Capitano Giustizziere. Then there was Fra' Bartolomeo as Commander of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Fra' Mario Orfeo as a knight of the Order and others who were Royal Knights, senators and Capitani Giustizzieri.

The first Vincenti traceable in Malta is to be found in the marriage records of the Parish of Vittoriosa where Domenico Vincenti, son of Santo Vincenti and Antonia, citizens of Piazza(now called Piazza Armerina in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies)married Agata or Maria Debono on 20 January 1710.

  • Francesca Vincenti - (Francesca Vincenti reigned as Malta's leading female Boardsailor & sailor for over a decade. Her achievements stretched from dominating the national arena, to winning several european and world titles. She has been decorated as Sportswoman of the Year for Malta on more than one occassion and remains the only woman in the history of sailing in Malta to have contributed to the growth of the sport on the local scene, as well as flying the Maltese colours at International Championships, always placing amongst the top 10 in a field of 40 women.

    Amongst her most notable titles, Francesca won the 1985 Spa Regatta in Holland, Freestyle World Championship Mistral 1986, Bermuda Cup 3rd, Malta National Championships 1983 - 1986, 6th Sailboard World's 1983, Giro d'Italia 1984 3rd, Mistral Worlds' 1984 6th, Women's Worlds 1986 6th, silver medal at the Mistral Open, in the UK in 1995.

    Francesca featured heavily in the early years of the Sport when windsurfing was breaking into the Olympic field, during which the Sport was only open for men. Infact, most of her racing years where spent challenging her male compatriots.)
