The Zammit Cutajar family began with a man called Arturo. Arturo Zammit later Zammit Cutajar was the son of Francesco Zammit and Goivanna Cutajar, was born in Valletta on November 10, 1889. He married Maude nee Barker Hayes on April 6th 1910 he had 5 children. Arturo Zammit, was the only son of Francessco Zammit and it cannot be established accurately when Arturo Zammit assumed his mother's maiden surname. Arturo Zammit joined the 2ndBn 'The King's own Malta regiment of Militia" in June 1907. He was commissioned as 2/Lieutenant Artur Zammit Cutajar when he was 17 years of age. He carried on a business of his Uncle Paolo Cutajar ' P.Cutajar& Co.' At the age of 18. He died in Sliema on 7th march 1958. And left the company to his son Alfred Zammit Cutajar.
